With the continuous improvement of urban infrastructure, water pipelines, as a key component of the urban water supply system, its safe and stable operation is crucial to the quality of life of residents. However, due to factors such as pipe aging and construction quality, water leakage problems of water pipelines occur from time to time. In order to ensure the normal operation of the water supply system, it is particularly important to find and solve the leakage problem in time. In this paper, we will introduce the methods and steps of water pipeline leakage detection in detail to help readers better understand and respond to this problem.
1. Pipe pressure test
First of all, in order to confirm whether there is a water leakage problem in the house water pipe, we need to carry out water pipe pressure preservation test. Specific steps are as follows:
- Close the main valve of the house water inlet pipe, as well as all faucets and corner valve switches.
- Remove the water heater inlet pipe to avoid damage.
- Select a faucet for the pressure retention test, apply 8 to 10 kilograms of water pressure using a pressurizer, and observe whether the pressure can be maintained steadily.
- If the pressure cannot be maintained, it is an initial indication that there is a suspected leak in the water mains. Subsequent air pressure test, if the results also show a drop in pressure, it can be determined that there is a leak in the house water pipeline phenomenon.
2. Conducting a piping test
After confirming the existence of water leakage in the water pipe, we will use PQWT-L7000 professional pipeline leak detector to conduct further testing to find the leakage point. The specific steps are as follows:
- Use pipeline leak detector to carry out a comprehensive detection, through the headset sound and the cursor signal on the screen, to find out the location of the pipeline suspected of leaking.
- Under normal circumstances, the headset sound and the cursor signal should remain relatively the same at pipeline locations without leakage; however, at pipeline leakage locations, the sound and the signal will change abnormally.
- By comparing the abnormal changes, the location of the suspected water leakage point is determined.
3. Re-verification
To ensure the accuracy of the detection results, we use the localization mode for re-verification. At the location of the suspected leakage point, if the instrument shows the highest height of the thick bar, it further confirms that the place is the pipeline leakage point.
Water pipeline leakage detection is a highly technical task that requires the support of professionals and advanced equipment. Through the steps of pressure preservation test, pipe detection and verification described in this paper, we can effectively find and solve the water leakage problem of water pipelines. In practice, we also need to flexibly adjust the detection methods and steps according to the specific situation to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test results. At the same time, in order to ensure the long-term stable operation of the water supply system, we should also strengthen the pipeline maintenance and repair work to prevent water leakage.
